An FMCG company has identified the need for its sales manager to view a custom dashboard in Microsoft Dynamic to track various business data & KPI's.

The task is to design a customizable data dashboard that visually tracks, analyzes & displays Key performance indicators. and metrics to help Sales Managers(SM) make the best decisions based on data.

The Process

As this project is about the needs and requirements of sales managers, I kicked off this project with understanding the role and responsibilities, KPI's, stakeholders' expectations of the Sales Manager of an FMCG company- Reckitt Benkiser.

A focused interview with follow-up questions to understand how can we best design the data dashboard for sales managers.

Design Decisions


As this project is about the needs and requirements of sales managers, I kicked off this project with understanding the role and responsibilities, KPI's, stakeholders' expectations of the Sales Manager of an FMCG company- Reckitt Benkiser.

A focused interview with follow-up questions to understand how can we best design the data dashboard for sales managers.

Sales Managers have to deal with lots of data and have to look at multiple metrics before taking a business decision.

How to provide a unified view of various different KPIs that impact business decision making?

Sales managers have to keep track of  multiple  team members in order to promote sales

How can we show the performance of each team member in a hierarchal order? 

How can we show the comparison by using various filters, time , brands, channels to help SM?

There is no unified way of showing data and comparing that data is too difficult.
